Injury forces Harsh Mankad out of ATP Challenger
Chikmagalur, Karnataka, Apr 16 (UNI) Davis cupper Harsh Mankad pulled out of the 25,000=dollar ATP Challengers Championship, starting here tomorrow due to a knee injury, even as ace tennis players Vishal Uppal, Musthaffa Ghouse, Kiran Nandkumar and Navjeet Singh were given wild card entry into the main draw.
Mankad pulled out of the Championship after picking up the injury during a practise session.
Meanwhile, S Bubka, O Terdshchuk (both Ukrine), K Capkaovic of Slovakia and M Thiubingnli of Switzerland entered the main draw, winning their respective matches in the qualifying rounds held yesterday and today.
Prakash Amritraj, Rohan Bopanna and Karan Rastogi would also be seen in action vying for top honours at the event.
This is the first time the tournament is being held in this Coffee Town.
