Bhopal, Apr 16: Special efforts are being undertaken in Gwalior district for commercial production of anola, considered as nectar in 'Ayurveda'.
Training for anola processing and nursery technique was imparted to 11 self-help groups comprising 107 members. Under the Golden Jubilee Village Self-Employment Scheme, a special project of hi-tech anola production, costing about Rs 93 lakh, has been chalked out, an official release said here today.
Two gene banks and ten decentralised nurseries were selected. In the first year of the project, Gwalior district received roughly Rs 14 lakh. Work of establishing the gene bank and training farmers was taken up, the release added.
