Centre plans to set up food park
Ranchi, Apr 16 (UNI) The Centre is initiating plans to set up a food park with the cooperation of the Jharkhand government to provide direct benefits to farmers, according to union minister of state for food processing Subodh Kant Sahay.
Mr Sahay, who visted the Swastik Fruits Private Ltd, the state's biggest unit in the food processing sector at Tatisilvi here yesterday, at a meeting with its chairman and officials, had stated that his ministry had already initiated the process of setting up the park. If the state government extends its cooperation then it would be opened soon, he said.
Expressing concern over the slow development of the state, he said the government should give importance to the food industries as it is directly connected with the farmers.
