BJP national leaders to campaign in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 16 (UNI) Top leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including Leader of the Opposition L K Advani and National President Rajnath Singh, would lead the election campaign here in an effort to help the 'lotus' bloom in the state.

Mr Advani will begin the campaign tomorrow, addressing an election meeting at Kasaragod and later in the evening, at Kozhikode.

He will also participate in a face-to-face programme on the next day, a release said here today.

While Mr Singh will attend election meetings at Kanhangad, Kannur and Vadakara on April 25 and at Ponnani on April 26, National Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu will address meetings at Kodungallur, Nattika, Chavakkad, Changaramkulam, Kuttipuram, Thirurangadi on April 19.

More public meetings are scheduled for April 20 at Sulthan Battery, Thamarassery, Balussery, Narikkuni and Beypore and on April 21 at Malampuzha, Ottappalam and Palakkad, it added.

Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Jaswant Singh will attend public meetings at Peroorkkada in Thiruvananthapuram and Eravipuam in Kollam District on April 19 while senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj will address a meeting on April 18, at Palakkad, where former Union Railway Minister O Rajagopal was contesting.
