Ayodhya Fidayeen attack accused to be produced

Faizabad, Apr 16: All five accused in the July five, 2005, failed Fidayeen strike at the Ram Janma Bhoomi complex in Ayodhya, arrested from Jammu and Kashmir and Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh during July last, will be produced before the District Court here tomorrow.

Official sources said here today the accused -- Nasim Ahmad, Asif Iqbal, Shakil Ahmad, Mohd Aziz and Dr Irfan -- presently lodged at the Naini (Allahabad) central jail, 170 km from Faizabad, will be produced before District Judge R P Shukla tomorrow.

During the last hearing in the case, they were brought to the same court amid tight security, where the District Judge extended by 14 days, the judicial remand of the accused.

While Nasim Ahmad, Asif Iqbal, Shakil Ahmad and Mohd Aziz were arrested from Jammu and Kashmir on July 14 and 27, for allegedly providing logistical support to the ultras who carried out the failed strike at the RJB complex. Dr Irfan, a Unani practioner was held by the police on July 22 last for having links with the same ultras.
