ABVP demands amendments to Education Bill
Gulbarga, Apr 16 (UNI) The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) today said the Karnataka Education Bill was passed in a hasty manner in the Assembly last month and demanded certain amendments to it.
Addressing a round-table conference here, organised by the ABVP, its State Vice-President M Nagaraju alleged that the Karnataka Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Determination of Fee) Bill was passed without going through various aspects.
Stating that there were lapses in the Bill, he opined that the government should have held discussions with educationalists, student leaders and parents before passing the Bill and called for a review.
He said the ABVP strongly opposed reservations to minorities.
