11 securuty personnel killed, four injured in naxal attack

Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, Apr 16 (UNI) Naxalites killed 11 security personnel and seriously injured four others during an attack on a police check post at Murkinar village in Dantewada district's Bijapur Police district, police said today.

Naxals looted more than 40 rifles, including AK 47, and hundreds of cartridges. Police have launched a massive hunt to track down the ultras.

After returning from the spot, Bijapur Sub-divisional Officer (SDO) K L Kashyap said the injured personnel had been admitted to Bijapur hospital.

Earlier, the ultras stopped a bus at Usur in Jagdalpur district and forced passengers to disembark. The naxals then used the bus, to drive upto the police post in Murkinar village and open fire on security personnel.
