Wrong parking of vehicle cause panic in Srinagar

Srinagar, Apr 15 (UNI) Security forces were on tenterhooks as an abandoned car was found at a 'no parking zone' on Residency road near here this afternoon.

The entire area is cordoned off and traffic movement on otherwise busy route came to halt after it was suspected that militants had planted a bomb in the car, according to sources.

Police personnel were seen asking people to move out of the area and shopkeepers also downed their shutters in panic as yesterday's seven grenade blasts were still fresh in their minds, in which five people were killed and more than 40 injured.

However, before the bomb disposal squad could reach there, the owner of the car reached there. Later normalcy returned in the area.

The main branch of the State Bank Of India, Sadder treasury of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank and other offices are located in the same area.
