Slight intensity earthquake in Meghalaya
Shillong, Apr 15 (UNI) A slight intensity earthquake shook Meghalaya last night, with the epicenter at India-Myanmar border.
The intensity of the earthquake was 4.8 on the Richter scale and it was felt at 2155 hrs IST. The epicenter was at latitude 24-degree North and longitude 94.9-degree East, said a Met department official here today.
''The earthquake was of slight intensity and there has been no report of any kind of damage,'' he said.
The North-Eastern part of India, which falls in the highest seismic zone in the country, is prone to earthquakes.
