Sananda threatens defamation suit against 'Deshonnati'

Akola, Apr 15 (UNI) Congress MLA from Khamgaon Rana Dilipkumar Sananda has threatened to file a Rs one crore defamation suit against Marathi daily 'Deshonatti' for allegedly publishing false reports against him.

Mr Sananda told mediapersons in Khamgaon, in the neighbouring Buldana district, yesterday that since he had raised in the legislative assembly the issue of 'justice' to Deshonnati journalist Manoj Padmagirwar, who recently committed suicide, 'Deshonnati' allegedly published ''false and defamatory'' reports against him.

He also alleged that Deshonnati Editor Prakash Pohre along with some of his (Sananda's) opponents were trying to ''defame'' him in the eyes of public.

Padmagirwar had committed suicide by jumping before a speeding train on March 28 and had left a suicide note mentioning that he was allegedly harassed by the newspaper management.

Following this, an offence of abetting suicide was registered against the 'Deshonnati' management.
