Reservation should be done on financial basis
Dehra Dun, Apr 15 (UNI) Criticising Central government's reservation policy ''based on caste and class,'' senior BJP leader Murali Manohar Joshi today said reservation should be provided on basis of the financial status of a person.
''The students from the reserved class are not even able to pass their matriculation exams and the government is talking about reservation at IIMs and IITs,'' said the former Union Human Resource Minister.
Dr Joshi further slamming the UPA government for signing treaties on nuclear power and agriculture with the US said it was a blow to the sovereignty of the country.
''The nuclear treaty is against country's strategical security and agriculture treaty is against food security,'' he said, adding the agriculture treaty in a long run would take away rights to seeds and Indian farmers would be in trouble.
