Panchayat asks youth to pay Rs 16,000 as fine for kissing girl

Akola, Apr 15 (UNI) The village panchayat at Laawada village in Maharashtra's Amravati district, has forced a youth to shell out Rs 16,000 as penalty for kissing a tribal girl.

On April 13, a youth invited a tribal girl to his room where he kissed her. The frightened girl shouted for help. Hearing her cries, locals rushed to her aid.

Later, the matter was brought before the village panchayat, which found the youth guilty of committing a crime and asked him to pay Rs 16,000 as penalty to the girl, village sources said.
