Maoist call for vote boycott
Birbhum, Apr 15 (UNI) Maoists today called for a vote boycott in three areas of this district sparking tension among the voters here.
Superintendent of Police Sanjay Singh told reporters, ''Posters were put up by the Maoists in Khoirashol, Dhubrajpur and Rajnagar police station area.'' The posters asked the people to boycott the polls, he said.
Police have already began tearing the posters and have assured the people of security, he said.
No one has been arrested so far.
Birbhum goes to polls on May 3 in the first ever five-phased polls in the state.
