Judges and lawyers must provide justice to people: Justice Pal

Patna, Apr 15 (UNI) Supreme Court Justice Ruma Pal today said judges and lawyers should ensure easy accessibility of justice to people.

Inaugurating a workshop on 'Accountability of the Bar and the bench in the legal services and gender equality,' organised by Bihar State Legal Services Authority (BSLSA) here, Justice Pal said the basic right, enshrined in the constitution, provided the 'right to equality' for everyone.

She said that an 'unequal' society could never progress economically, politically or socially.

Chief Justice of Patna High Court J N Bhatt said Lok Adalat was an important vehicle for the common man.

BSLSA Executive Chairman and a senior judge of Patna High Court Justice Shivkirti Singh and BSLSA member secretary Abhijeet Sinha were also among the speakers of the seminar.
