Journalists Union condemn attack on reporter

Hyderabad, Apr 15 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) today strongly condemned the alleged attack on Kaleem, Reporter of Andhra Jyoti Telugu Daily in Chittoor district by Congress leader Bal Reddy yesterday.

In a statement here today, APUWJ Vice President and its Secretary Y Narender Reddy said Mr Reddy attacked the office of the newspaper and ransacked it. They also alleged that the reporter was manhandled.

Expressing serious concern at the incident, the journalists urged the Union Home Minister to intervene and take stringent action against the Congress leader.

The State Government would also be urged to provide security to the concerned journalist, they added.
