Cook of Anees says he knows where Dawood lives in Karachi
New Delhi, Apr 15 (UNI) Mohammed Jabril Khan alias Ismail, cook of Dawood Ibrahim's brother Anees, in his confessional statement has confessed to being privy to visits by the underworld don to his master's residence in Karachi.
In his more than three-hour long confession, Ismail said Dawood would often visit Anees at his Karachi residence and that he lived in the city's posh Clifton area, said sources.
He also said he last saw Dawood about one-and-a-half years ago and that other gang members like Noora and Mustakeen were among those who would pay regular visits at Anees' residence.
Ismail's confession was recorded before a magistrate on April 13, after his arrest on April 11 from the Indira Gandhi International Airport soon after his arrival from Karachi.
After he was charged with cheating, forgery as well as offence under the provisions of Passport Act as he was travelling with a passport that did not contain stamps of Pakistan authorities despite his boarding the plane from Karachi, Ismail was sent to police custody till April 18 initially. Later, the court sent him to 14-day judicial custody.
A resident of Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh, Ismail had been working with Anees since 1999 at his 46 Clifton (Karachi) residence but was thrown out after being detected with a 'serious disease'.
Main accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, Dawood Ibrahim is named in a fresh notice jointly issued by the Interpol and the United Nations. The notice perforces any UN member country to freeze Dawood's assets and impose a travel ban on him.
Besides, Dawood has also been declared a global terrorist by the United States.
