Congress MP surrenders in court

Jamtara, Apr 15 (UNI) Congress MP from Godda Lok Sabha constituency in Jharkhand, Furkan Ansari, today surrendered in a local court here and got bail in connection with a case related to damaging the foundation plate of proposed police lines in the Bena village near this district headquarter town.

The court of subdivisional judicial magistrate A K Mishra had issued non-bailable warrant against them on March 3 this year. Mr Ansari surrendered in the court and got bail on two bonds of Rs five thousand each.

A case against Mr Ansari, the then MLA of Jamtara and five others was lodged in the town police station under section 341, 353, 427 and 506 of IPC on January 23, 2003, alleging that they had damaged the foundation plate in illegal manner.
