AP Govt employees threaten action after May 15

Hyderabad, Apr 15 (UNI) More than one million State Government employees and teachers will resort to direct action after May 15 if the Government did not concede their 17-point charter of demands.

A delegation of Joint Action Committee of Employees, Teachers and Workers comprising 106 organisations and led by its Chairman B V Subba Rao served a notice to Chief Secretary T K Deewan at the Secretariat today.

The members would stage dharnas before the Collectorates on April 21 and hold a massive rally here on May 11 to press the demands, including regularisation of over three lakh contract and part-time contingent employees, a Committee release said.

Their demands, included immediate remittance of pay revision arrears from April one, 2005 to July 31,2005 into employees GPF accounts, 20 per cent house rent allowance to all those in eight km radius of Hyderabad and change of head of account of Pachayatraj ministerial and Class IV employees to enable them to get their salaries on first of every month, the release added.
