2 members of illicit arms syndicate arrested

Mahoba, Apr 15 (UNI) Police arrested two members of an inter-state gang of illicit arms syndicate under Srinagar area of Mahoba district in Uttar Pradesh.

The motorcycle-borne duo were nabbed during a routine vehicle checking drive last evening, police today said.

The arrested youth -- Sanjay Mishra and Rajendra -- hail from Chattarpur district in Madhya Pradesh.

A large quantity of cartridges were also seized from their ossession.

According to police, the accused had confessed to supplying arms and ammunitions to criminal and dacoit gangs active in the ravines of UP and MP.

Further investigations were on.
