YSR launches 'Ambedkar Jeevan Dhara' Scheme

Hyderabad, Apr 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the 'Ambedkar Jeevan Dhara' (drinking water) programme will be implemented in all villages selected under INDIRAMMA Scheme in the state during the year.

Announcing the scheme on the occasion of 115th birth anniversary celerations of Dr B R Ambedkar here, the Chief Minister said under 'Jeevan Dhara,' the government will provide safe drinking water to villages and SC, ST colonies where the people were facing scarcity.

The government will allocate Rs 850 crore for implementing the scheme in three years.

Announcing low interest loans to the SC and ST communities to encourage them to set up industries, Dr Reddy said the State Finance Corporation (SFC) will take steps to reduce interest rates to encourage them to become entreprenuers.
