Two missing and three injured in snow storm in Ladakh region

Kargil, Ladakh, Apr 14 (UNI) Two people went missing and three others were injured when they were caught in a snow storm on the Srinagar-Drass highway, official sources said today.

They said a group of five people left Sonamarg on April 9 for Drass. After reaching zero point, they were caught in a snow storm, they added.

However, three of them managed to reach Gumri despite heavy snowfall where they spent a night, sources said, adding they reached Drass last night.

They were admitted to a hospital in Drass and their condition is said to be stable.

A senior police offcer told UNI that police rescue teams have been rushed to different directions to locate the missing people.

They have been identified as Abdul Latief and Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, both residents of Doda.
