Twin blasts rock Jama Masjid, 3 injured

New Delhi, Apr 14 (UNI) Three persons were injured as twin blasts rocked the historic Jama Masjid in Old Delhi this evening.

The blasts, which occurred within the space of minutes, took place while evening prayers were being offered, according to sources.

The first blast occurred at about 1715 hrs.

Reports also talked of a minor third blast having taken place.

The blasts have not caused any damage to the Masjid structure, according to Jama Masjid spokesman Amanullah.

There was chaos in the area which has been cordoned off.

Shops in the area have been shut.
