PWD contractor shot dead

Lucknow, Apr 14 (UNI) Armed miscreants today shot dead a Public Works Department (PWD) contractor under Sarojini Nagar area of the Uttar Pradesh capital.

Police said Uday Pratap Singh was attacked at his residence by Shyamlal and his aides.

Singh sustained grievous bullet wounds and succumbed on way to hospital. The assailants fled the scene.

Business rivalry was stated to be the reason behind crime.

A named FIR had been lodged and investigations are underway.
