Power generation affected in Nathpa Jhakri
Shimla, Apr 14 (UNI) Power generation in the 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri power project was affected yesterday after the plant was closed following high silt content in the river, official sources today said.
The plant had to be closed in the morning after the silt level crossed the danger mark of 5,000 parts per million (PPM) due to rains in the upper region of the Himalayas.
However, by evening the project was generating 500 MW of power after the silt content in the river fell, the sources said.
The sources hoped that the plant would resume 1500 MW of power generation by this evening.
