PMK announces names of two party candidates in UT

Pondicherry, Apr 14 (UNI) The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) today announced R K R Anandaraman, the party's deputy general secretary for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry as the candidate for Ariyankuppam constituency and P Arul Murugesan, the party candidate for Mannadipet for the May 8 assembly elections.

Announcing this to newspersons here, PMK parliamentary party leader Prof M Ramadass said though the party had sought five seats it was allocated two seats to contest and promised a nominated member to the Territorial Assembly as per the agreement signed here earlier today.

''We are in a winning alliance and will have to sacrifice something,'' he said.

The PMK would strive hard for the victory of all the Democratic Progressive Alliance candidates, he said adding the party's election manifesto under preparation would be released soon.
