One killed in gang rivalry

Mumbai, Apr 14 (UNI) One person was killed and another seriously injured in a shooting incident near Mahim Dargha in north-central Mumbai today.

Police said the shooting was an outcome of an intra-gang rivalry, in which the deceased, identified as Akbar Dadhi, suffered chest and head injuries, was shot at by one Azim Kazi. Kazi was seriously injured in the incident when his associate misfired.

Both the injured persons were rushed to Bhabha hospital, where Dadhi succumbed to his injuries, while Kazi was battling for life.

One Mohammed Asif, an associate of Kazi has been arrested and another is absconding and one motor cycle has been recovered from the spot, police added.

Police further said that both the deceased and injured have criminal record. A case of firing and murder has been registered with Mahim police and further investigations are on.
