Kolkattans experience temperate weather

Kolkata, Apr 14 (UNI) Cool breeze, cloudy sky and a little drizzle- people of Kolkata could not expect a better gift than this on the eve of 'Poila Baisakh', the Bengali's new year's day.

Reeling under scorching heat for a prolonged period, last night's shower brought a sense of relief to the city, forcing the mercury to drop considerably.

Met office sources informed today that the maximum temperature was 33.7 degree Celsius, three degrees above the normal.

The minimum temperature was 29 degree Celsius, one degree above the normal.

The relative maximum humidity was 90 per cent while the minimum relative humidity was 81 per cent, the officials added.

Met officials predicted partly cloudy sky but no rainfall.
