Helicopter taxi service in HP soon, says Ambika Soni

Chamba, Apr 14 (UNI) Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Ambika Soni today announced the introduction of helicopter taxi services in Himachal Pradesh to attract high-end tourists and boost tourism sector in the state.

Inaugurating the Chamba Millennium celebrations here, she said this step would contribute towards the economy and employment opportunities.

Ms Soni said a list of ancient temples and heritage buildings and monuments in the state would be sent to the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) for their maintenance and preservation.

''The Tourism Ministry would provide the funds for their maintenance and preservation,'' she said, adding funds would not be a constraint to boost to tourism in the country.

She said over four crore foreign tourists were visiting different destinations of the country annually while about equal number of Indians were travelling within the country.
