Girl abducted for marriage to dacoit's brother

Bhind, MP, Apr 14 (UNI) A 20-year-old girl was abducted from Uttar Pradesh's Chintoli village by her relative for marrying her off to notorious dacoit Jagjivan Parihar's brother Bharat Singh, police said today.

Prahlad Singh Chouhan abducted Shivpal Singh's daughter on April 12. Chouhan had announced that he would marry the girl to Bharat Singh in Bhind district on April 16.

Superintendent of Police Raja Babu Singh said ''security had been intensified along district borders in view of the information. Steps will be taken to ensure that the girl was not married.'' Bandit Jagjivan carries a reward of Rs 50,000 and Rs 1 lakh announced by the Madhya Pradesh and the Uttar Pradesh governments respectively.
