Gautam Buddh Nagar receives grants for schools
Noida, Apr 14: After a long wait, the Gautam Buddh Nagar district received Rs 5 crore from the State Government for the development of primary schools and junior high schools here.
Basic Education Officer (BEO) Girjesh Kumar Choudhary said here yesterday that out of the total allocation, a major portion will be utilised for the construction of the proposed 23 primary and 13 junior high schools in the area.
Since there were several dilapidated school buildings, the funds would also be used to repair them at the earliest, the BEO said.
While there are 410 primary schools in the district, many of them do not have sufficient rooms to accommodate all the students, he said, adding that at least 320 extra rooms will have to be constructed at the earliest, the BEO said.
