Ganja, timber seized

Imphal, Apr 14 (UNI) Troops of Assam Rifles seized about 60 tonnes of timber and and 600 kgs of ganja from separate places in Manipur during the last 24 hours, sources today said.

An Assam Rifles (AR) official said troops of 18 AR seized six trucks, smuggling about 60 tons of illegal timber from Tengnoupal, Chandel district.

In a separate incident, the troops of 13 AR seized 600 kgs of ganja from Saikul at Senapati district.

The contraband was burnt in the presence of police representatives and village authority, AR sources said.
