Ganja and timber seized

Imphal, Apr 14: Troops of Assam Rifles seized timber and ganja in two different incidents during the last 24 hours.

An Assam Rifles (AR) official said troops of 18 AR at Tengnoupal, Chandel district seized six trucks, while smuggling about 60 tons of illegal timber.

During the search, troops intercepted six trucks loaded with timber along with six occupants.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, the troops of 13 AR located at Saikul at Senapati district seized 600 kgs of ganja.

The contraband was burnt in the presence of police representatives and village authority, AR sources said.
