Gandhi Bhavan inaugurated in Mandya
Mandya, Apr 14 (UNI) Gandhi Bhavan, constructed at a cost of Rs One Crore, was inaugurated today by Sri Shradananda Swamiji of Chunchanagiri Mutt here today.
Presiding over the function, Gandhi Memorial Bhavan, Bangalore Chairman H Sreenivasiah stressed that there was a need to follow the Gandhi's principles for peace, development and stability in the society.
In the Gandhi Bhavan Life size photos of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi was put up on the either sides of entrance. While in the verandah and in first floor 246 photos of Gandhiji chronologically arranged depicting childhood, study period, activities in South Africa, Dandi Yatra, different stages and views of freedom struggle has been displayed.
The balcony will house library with books, monographs, charts, compact discs and video cassettes. In the main hall the photographs of Prime Ministers, Presidents of India, freedom struggle in Karnataka, Shivapura Dwaja Satyagraha, Vidhuraswatha massacre and Gandhi's visit to Karnataka will also be displayed.
