DySP among 7 injured in Shia-Sunni clash near Godhra

Godhra, Apr 14 (UNI) A Deputy Superintendent of Police was among seven people injured in a Shia-Sunni clash today in Kalol, about 25 kms from here.

Police had to open fire to quell the violence. A total of 60 people have been arrested in this connection, police said.

Halol's DySP P C Baranda who sustained a bullet injury, has been rushed to a Vadodara hospital for treatment.

There had been tension between the two groups of Muslims for sometime. Today, they clashed openly with each other, pelting stones, when police intervened.
