Nagpur, Apr 14 (UNI) The announcement of the final decision on launching of Boeing commercial aircraft from Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport here may be made before the month end, according to Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) Managing Director R C Sinha.

Talking to mediapersons here today, Mr Sinha said that the decision to start Boeing's operations in India had already been taken by the company's directors, but it was not clear whether they would give any preference to the Nagpur airport.

He said a team of experts, led by Boeing Vice President Dinesh Keshkar, had recently visited the airport to conduct a feasibility study and they had expressed their desire to launch operations from here.

The final decision is likely to be taken in a meeting with the company's board of directors scheduled to be held in Delhi this month, he added.

On the development of special economic zone (SEZ) adjacent to the proposed International Hub Airport at Nagpur, Mr Sinha said prominent companies including Shaporji Palamji, Larsen&Toubro, Tata Consjultancy Services (TCS) and Satyam have already come forward to set up an IT Park in this zone and allotment of land and other dealings with these companies had already been finalised.

A number of companies had approached the MADC seeking land for their projects to be set up in the SEZ, but no final decision has so far been taken, he added.
