CPI(ML) to launch agitation against NDA government

Patna, Apr 14 (UNI) The CPI(ML) today announced to launch a six-day agitation from April 17 against the NDA government in Bihar for its alleged failure to fulfil pre-poll promises.

CPI(ML) State Secretary Ramjatan Sharma told reporters here that pre-poll promises of the NDA government proved to be 'only political gimmicks' as it 'failed' to fulfil them even after completion of four months in office.

Mr Sharma alleged the much hyped promise of the government to check criminal activities within three months proved 'complete hollow'.

He said in the name of checking Naxalism, the police were adopting 'repressive' measures and conducting raids at the houses of the downtrodden people. The government was not serious about implementation of the Rural Employment Gurantee Scheme(REGS).

During the agitation, the party would stage dharna in front of the district headquarters till April 22.

It would also organise a 'Nyay Yatra' during this period in the central Bihar districts like Bhojpur, Jehanabad, Arwal and Patna to restore Amir Das Commission, which had been wind up by the state government.

The said Commission was constituted to detect political patronage to Ranveer Sena which had engineered the Laxmanpur Bathe massacre claiming lives of more than 60 Dalits.
