Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda, Apr 14 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today said the Congress in the state would fight the Vidhan Sabha elections, slated for February next year, on its own.

''We will have no truck with CPI as during last assembly polls, Congress suffered because of its alliance with the CPI,''he said while talking to media persons here.

He claimed that the CPI cannot win even a single seat from Punjab on its own strength .

The CPI, too, has already ruled out any poll alliance with the Congress.

The CPI has in the past fought a number of elections in alliance with the Congress, including the last polls.
