Bodos condemn all election-related violence

New Delhi, Apr 14 (UNI) The World Bodo National Conference Durbar (WBNCD) today strongly criticised all election-related violence within the Bodoland Autonomous Region (BAR).

WBNCD President and Lok Sabha MP Sansuma K Bwiswmuthiary in a statement issued here criticised the barbaric killing of a school headmaster at Simswrgaon by miscreants and an attack on Ms Kanan Bala Basumatary -the President of All Bodo Women's Welfare Federation (ABWWF) by some miscreants at Daloabar.

He expressed serious concern over the unabated violence and sporadic incidents unleashed by some miscreants groups here and there in the name of elections from the beginning of the election process and said it is a matter is very serious nature.

He said WBNCD urged the concerned authorities to take immediate stringent measures by apprehending all those criminal elements involved with these incidents to avoid any further deterioration in the law and order situation and also not to force the various Bodo outfits to again pick up arms to sort out the issue.

Mr Bwiswmuthiary also appealed to all Bodo factions to maintain peace for the overall development of Bodo Nation.
