Mumbai, Apr 14 (UNI) Mumbai unit of the BJP will organise a demonstration against dual policies of the state government on power supply to the city on April 17 at Azad Maidan in South Mumbai.

City BJP President Prakash Mehta told reporters that, while the state government and the union power minister were giving assurances of providing required power supply to the city, it was supporting the decision of imposing cent per cent penalty on its customers if they did not adopt self-imposed cuts, on the other hand.

He added, ''Despite annoucing that Mumbai would get an additional of 250MW power, the government has not informed the Maharashtra Electric Regulatory Commisson about the same. This indicates that the announcement was hollow.'' Mr Mehta also demanded that Reliance stop the self-imposed penalty it was forcing on its consumers.

He demanded that load-shedding in areas like Mulund and Bhandup in north east Mumbai be stopped immediately too.
