Bangladesis infiltrators posing national threat : Rajnath

Patna, Apr 14(UNI) Describing Bangladeshi infiltration into India as a 'national threat', BJP national president Rajnath Singh assserted that the infiltrators would be deported once the party returns to power at the Centre.

Addressing a public meeting in Gaya late last night, Mr Singh expressed concern over the largescale infiltration of Bangladeshis saying it was fast becoming a 'national threat'.

''Some of the infiltrators are indulging in anti-national activities and steps would be initiated to deport them to their motherland after proper indentification, if the BJP returns to power,'' he said.

The BJP leader said some of the infiltrators managed to secure citizenship which was a major cause of concern and the Centre should identify those who succeeded in getting the citizenship through unscrupulous means.

Enthused with the huge gathering waiting to welcome him even at such late hour, Mr Singh clarified that the BJP never took out the rath yatra to get political mileage. ''The BJP respects all religions,'' he maintained.

He said the aim of his Rathyatra was to protect the unity and integrity of the country, noting that disruptive forces were posing a serious threat to the nation's unity. He also expressed concern at rising ISI and naxal activities in the country.

''Attempts are being made to build a naxal corridore from Nepal to Kochi,'' he cautioned.

Castigating the Centre for rise in prices of essential commodities Mr Singh said the government had 'failed' to arrest the record making life miserable for the common man.

Earlier, when the rath yatra entered Bihar last night senior leaders of the state unit and Bihar Ministers from BJP welcomed him at Gosidih situated on the borders of Bihar and Jharkhand.

Meanwhile, after garlanding the statue of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, Mr Singh resumed his yatra which is scheduled to pass through Aurangabad, Dehri-On-Sone, Sasaram, Nokha and Ara. Mr Singh would address public meetings at all these places and stay the night at Patna.
