Arun, Lakra grab medals at 28th kings Cup Boxing

New Delhi, Apr 14 (UNI) Arun Singh (51 kg) finished with a silver after losing to Olympic champion Somjit Jongjohor of Thailand and AL Lakra (57 kg) took the bronze following his loss to eventual gold medallist Jo Seok Hwan of Korea in the 28th Kings Cup Boxing Tournament held at Bangkok from April 4 to 10.

The duo was a part of the nine-member boxing team, which went to participate in the tournament featuring boxers from 17 Countries In the 51 kg category, Arun defeated Kam Wai Song in the quarterfinals and Sat Japorn Janreosan of Thailand on points in the semifinals.

However, in the finals, he lost to Olympic champion Jongjohor and settled for the silver medal.

In the 57 kg category, Lakra defeated Yuttapong Morthaisong of Thailand and Kamal Sameera of Sri Lanka but lost to Hwan in the semifinal to finish with a bronze medal.
