AP CM riects officials to complete road works
Hyderabad, Apr 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today instructed the officials of the Panchayatraj department to complete all the black topping works connecting 4,024 habitations covering a length of 3031 km in the state.
Dr Reddy, who reviewed the progress of various schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) at the camp office, said the black topping of the roads should be completed soon.
The officials informed the Chief Minister that during March 2006, the Centre had cleared the phase V proposals for an amount of Rs 320.97 crore to lay roads to a length of 1,689 km connecting 1301 habitations.
The officials said the Centre had sanctioned rural roads under PMGSY in four phases. The total sanctions in four phases was Rs 1315.04 crore covering a length of 11,753 km to provide all weather roads to 748 habitations.
