Advani arrives in Mumbai

Mumbai, Apr 14 (UNI) Former Deputy Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani arrived in Mumbai late last night after cancelling the Karnataka leg of Bharat Suraksha Yatra, following the death of Dadasaheb Phalke awardee Rajkumar day before yesterday.

Mr Advani called on the family members of Rajkumar at Bangalore last evening and offered condolences to the wife and sons of the thespian.

Mr Advani, this morning visited IT park at Goregaon in north west Mumbai and later inaugurated the Mango festival at Shivaji park.

Mumbai BJP president Prakash Mehta told reporters that Mr Advani also visited to Chitya Bhoomi at Dadar in north central Mumbai and paid tributes to the architect of Indian Constitution Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. He was accompanied by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya among others.

Mr Somaiya later told UNI that Mr Advani would stay at his relative's residence near Churchgate in south Mumbai tonight and would leave by a special flight to Ananthpur in Andhra Pradesh tomorrow morning to resume his yatra. The yatra would start from Gunthkal city in Ananthpur district situated on the border of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, Mr Somaiya said.
