5 juveniles escape, six apprehended

Chennai, Apr 14 (UNI) In a daring act, 15 juveniles lodged in the Juvenile Justice Home escaped after locking up the warden at Vellore, about 160 km from here, last night.

Reports received here said police acted swiftly and nabbed six of them. Special police parties have been formed to nab the remaining nine juveniles.

Warden Venkatesan was checking the Registry, when one of the boys snatched the key from him and locked him into the room, before releasing inmates from other rooms.
