10-year-old girl raped by orphanage warden in Nallasopara

Mumbai, Apr 14 (UNI) A 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by the warden of an orphanage at Nallasopara in the neighbouring Thane district.

Nalasophara Senior Police Inspector Bajirao Bhosale said that the warden of orphanage John Alexzande had allegedly raped a 10-year-old girl with help from his maid, Anandibai on April 10.

Mr Bhosale added, ''Anandibai was arrested today, while Alexzander is absconding.'' The incident came to light when the victim narraated the entire episode to her elder sister.

Later the victim's sister told about the incident to her tuition teacher Kavita Bansode who took the victim to the Nallasopara police and informed about the rape.

When no action was taken after two days of meeting the police, MS Bansode met local social worker Chhaya Patil who lodged a complaint based on which Anandibai was arrested today. The accused is absconding.
