Tragic turn to Rajkumar's cortege; 4 killed in police firing

Bangalore, Apr 13 (UNI) Four people were killed when police opened fire to quell irate fans of Kannada matinee idol Rajkumar in two places, even as the body of the thespian was being taken in a procession to the burial spot inside the Kanteerava Studios.

While one person was killed in police firing when the cortege started, three others were killed when police opened fire to disperse a frenzied mob which indulged in arson and stone throwing.

Several people, including policemen, sustained injuries in stone throwing incidents and were rushed to nearby hospitals.
