Samajwadi Party chief of Bengal to contest assembly election
Howrah, Apr 13 (UNI) Samajwadi Party's West Bengal unit chief Vijay Upadhya today said he would contest from Howrah assembly constiuency in the coming elections.
Talking to mediapersons here, he alleged that his election agent Asgar Kamal was beaten by the supporters of the CPI(M) yesterday.
He said the injured was admitted to a local hospital.
A complain was lodged regarding assault to Howrah district magistrate and returning officer Nalini Chakraborty.
Police said two persons were arrested in this connection.
