Salman is the USP of my film: Saawan Kumar

New Delhi, Apr 13 (UNI) Even as he spent two days in the confines of a Jodhpur jail following a local court sentencing him to five years imprisonment in a chinkara hunting case, Salman's "new and unique" look in his latest film 'Saawan-The Love Season' is the ''talk of the town''.

Salman's look and portrayal, of an angelic person who has divine powers to foresee impending events, in 'Saawan-The Love Season' which released on April 6, has attracted huge public attention.

No wonder then, veteran filmmaker Saawan Kumar, who has given to the industry such films as 'Souten' and 'Sanam Bewafa' is thrilled no end at the good showing of his new film moreso since it was released alongside a big banner film like 'Shadi Se Pehle' and the much-hyped 'Banaras-A Mystic Love Story'.

''I am pleased at the good showing of the film and the excellent response to Salman's portrayal in it.

Infact, the film essentially belongs to Salman, whose 'unique look' has been much talked about everywhere even before the film's release,''Saawan Kumar told UNI here.

According to the filmmaker, he took Salman Khan because he felt his presence in the film, which features newcomers Kapil Zaveri and Salloni Aswani, would help to provide the much needed lift to the venture by ensuring it a big draw considering Salman's popularity.

''Salman is indeed the USP of the film besides its story. The love story between Kapil and Salloni in the film takes an interesting and intriguing turn with the entry of Salman in the narrative,''Saawan Kumar, who has hitherto made 18 gilms of varied genres, said.

''Saawan features Salman in a role hitherto unseen from the actor,'' he said.
