London, Apr 13 (UNI) Nick Knight has announced his retirement from club as well as international cricket at the end of the current season.

''I feel the end of the 2006 season is the right time to move on and look to the future. I would like to express my gratitude for all the support and the memories,'' Knight said a statement issued by his county club Warwickshire.

The opener, who played 17 Tests and 100 one-dayers for England, last played for the national side in 2003.

''I feel very lucky to have played the game for this long at both county level, with Essex and Warwickshire, and internationally with England,'' he said.

Club's Chief Executive, Colin Povey, said, ''Nick has been a great servant to Warwickshire CCC and the Club will miss his contribution both on and off the field.'' UNI XC PM AY PM1512
