MDFA to hold training camps in city and suburbs from April 17

Mumbai, Apr 13 (UNI) The Mumbai District Football Association will conduct summer training camps for under 16 boys and girls from April 17.

The 19-day camps would be held at 10 different venues spread over the city and its suburbs reach out to as many children as possible, a release issued here today said.

The idea of holding the camps at so many centres is to enable children reach the venues easily, thus, avoiding expenditure on travelling as well as save time, the release said.

The trainees would be provided free jerseys, stockings and shorts and will be served light refreshments during the camps.

These camps are expected to attract around as 400 children and MDFA has appointed 40 coaches to impart training to them.

After the completion of the camps, a tournament would be held between the various camp teams and 40 players each in the age group of 14-16 would be selected, who would then be imparted special coaching and training all the year round, the release added.
